This evening we finally had out first session! Thanks to all who came out–it was good to finally meet you all in person. I could see how folks were learning how to learn–meta learning! We worked on a jig called My Darling Asleep, and another called Morrison’s. Morrison’s is a tough one with a complex ‘B’ part, but 2 hours is definitely sufficient to learn a tune and practice it, plus go over some previous tunes we’ve worked on.
I hope this grows. I hope we get into our real space soon. I hope everyone involved really gets something out of it, learns new tunes, learns how to play better, becomes part of the ongoing tradition of Irish music. It’s addictive!
